The US Secretary of State emphasized that Ukraine continues to fight the Russian Federation in Crimea and the Black Sea.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that Ukraine has the right to conduct military operations in temporarily occupied Crimea for its protection.
“In recent weeks, we have worked to speed up the delivery of aid to the front lines to ensure that Ukrainians have everything they need to fight ongoing Russian aggression. Of course, the extraordinary courage and resilience of Ukrainians themselves is playing a role as they cope with the problems in Kharkov and in the east of the country. but if necessary, they continue to fight Russia in Crimea, as well as in the Black Sea,” he emphasized during a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
He also commented on the security agreement that was recently signed by the presidents of the United States and Ukraine. Blinken expects about 20 more countries to do the same before the NATO summit to shore up support for Ukraine.
“This is proof, clear proof that all of our partners are with Ukraine for the long term. And if Mr. Putin expects that he will outlive Ukraine, outlive any of us, then he is wrong. He is wrong. And again, I think “that you will see a summit that will further emphasize this,” he assured.
According to him, the Ukrainian strategy, which is being implemented by the United States, demonstrates effective results in repelling Russian aggression.
“And this was done surprisingly successfully, remembering that Putin’s goal from day one was to wipe Ukraine off the map, to end its existence as an independent country, to annex it to Russia. This failed. But in the future we want to make sure that Ukraine achieves success, that it stands firmly on its own feet, militarily, economically, democratically. And this is exactly what we are helping Ukraine do. And this is a sign of success in the future,” the US Secretary of State noted.

Mostly Biden makes these quick decisions..
What decision? Nothing has changed regarding Ukraine’s ability to strike in Crimea.
That’s nothing new – they’ve made clear for a long time that Ukraine is free to use whatever weapons they like on their own territory, and of course Crimea is Ukrainian territory.
From a couple of years ago:

Do you agree with Biden that Ukraine should not shoot US weapons into ruSSia except in the Kharkiv sector?
I think that Ukraine should be able to strike ruSSian military targets regardless of where they are.
P.S. I only posted the reminder that this changes nothing because someone in this group repeatedly (falsely) claimed that President Biden wouldn’t allow attacking Ukrainian territory or that “Biden banned the use of American made weapons for attacks on Crimea.”
Apparently, it’s not *just* in the Kharkiv sector – “US says Ukraine can hit inside Russia ‘anywhere’ its forces attack across the border”

Was Blinken in a coma? Ukraine had the go-ahead for quite some time.
I don’t think that Blinken in a coma; I think that Karina Bovsunovskaya was. If you read the Uniam article, or the press conference, Blinken just mentioned that Ukrainians “continue to fight Russia in the Crimea”. Nothing was said about giving Ukraine permission to do so – it’s been very clear for 2 years that the Biden administration said they have the right to do so, and it’s been very clear that Ukraine knows this.
In addition to the statement from the US that I keep posting, see an article posted here in 2022 which quotes Ukraine’s Ambassador to the United States Oksana Markarova as saying that the United States had not imposed any restrictions on Ukraine’s strikes with the use of American weapons on the territory of Crimea. And it quotes Defence Minister Oleksii Reznikov saying that Ukraine had pledged not to use Western weapons on the territory of Russia, but these restrictions do not apply to temporarily occupied Crimea.
“We have agreements with the United States that we will not use weapons provided to us by the United States and partners on the territory of the Russian Federation. But today, we are talking about liberation of the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, where the enemy is located. In that case, we have no such restrictions,” the minister said.
