The AFU have occupied the village of Krasnooktyabrskoye south of Korenevo on the bank of the Seim River in Kursk region, reports the German edition of Bild.
‘In this way, even without taking Korenevo, they have completely closed the eastern border of the mousetrap in which about 3,000 Russian soldiers are locked. It is blocked from the south and west by the state border, from the north – the Seim River,’ noted the publication’s analysis.
The day before, analysts from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) said that the advance of Ukrainian troops in Kursk Region had slowed down. Now the Defence Forces are trying to entrench themselves and hold the areas they have recently taken control of.
