Washington does not want to worsen the already difficult relations with Tehran, especially against the background of the US elections.

Iran has probably transferred several hundred short-range ballistic missiles to Russia . Despite the dire threats from the White House, the US response to this event is likely to be sluggish, writes The New York Times .
It is noted that the countries of the “Group of Seven” (G7) warned back in March that they would introduce agreed sanctions against Iran if it handed over missiles to the Russians. This warning was repeated at the NATO summit in Washington in July.
US National Security Council spokesman Sean Savett confirmed today that Washington and its key allies are “prepared to impose significant consequences” on Iran for supplying missiles.
But as the NYT notes, despite the threat, President Joe Biden has plenty of reasons for restraint. For example, for many months, the United States conducted “thoughtful diplomacy with Iran”, trying to prevent the war in Gaza from developing into a regional conflict. Obviously, Biden does not want to nullify these efforts.
“With the American presidential campaign in full swing and President Biden a lame duck, it’s unclear how strong Washington’s response will be,” a senior European official told the publication on condition of anonymity.
Some interlocutors of the newspaper assume that Biden’s reaction will be that he will approve the delivery of longer-range missiles to Ukraine. However, even here there are doubts, because Biden has already shown how he knows how to fear the escalation of the war and limit Ukraine’s resources.
“Western officials are also worried about cornering Iran’s new president, Massoud Pezeshkian, who is considered something of a moderate in the country’s ruling establishment,” the NYT writes.

And Ukraine get no long range missiles or if given, may not be used inside Russia…………….treason by name.
As usual with the collective suspects in Western capitals, the terrorists in tehran will have nothing much to fear for helping mafia land terrorizing Ukraine.
What can Bidenov do when he is on vacation 40% of the time? He needs that time to think of a way to blame someone else for his failures.
I thought he spent this time trying different flavors of ice cream.
Ukraine warns Iran of ‘devastating consequences’ amid missile transfers to Russia
Ukraine has approached Iran amid concerns about a possible transfer of ballistic missiles to Russia. Ukraine has warned Iran of “devastating consequences” for bilateral relations, according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The ministry expressed concern over reports in the media on the possible transfer of Iranian ballistic missiles to Russia.
“We once again urge the leadership of the Islamic Republic of Iran to refrain from supplying any weapons or military equipment to Russia, which, under the UN Charter and international law, is recognized as an aggressor state,” the statement reads.
For over two years, Ukraine has suffered from Russian attacks, including those using Iranian-made drones. The Ukrainian foreign ministry emphasizes that deepening military-technical cooperation between Russia and Iran poses serious security risks not only to Ukraine but also to Europe, the Middle East, and the world.
“We call on the international community to increase pressure on Tehran and Moscow in order to protect international peace and security,” the ministry stated.
Ukraine is urging Iran to completely cease supplying weapons to Russia and to prove the “sincerity of its political leadership’s claims of non-involvement in fueling Russia’s war machine of death.”
The ministry further warned Tehran that if the transfer of Iranian ballistic missiles to Russia is confirmed, it would lead to “devastating consequences for Ukrainian-Iranian bilateral relations.”
Iran-Russia cooperation
Iran is one of the few countries that actively supports and assists Russia’s military. Tehran has been providing Russia with kamikaze drones and missiles. Recently, The Wall Street Journal reported that Iran had supplied Russia with a new batch of short-range ballistic missiles, coinciding with the intensification of Russian strikes on Ukraine.
According to analysts from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), this missile transfer is part of a broader strategy to deepen relations between Russia and Iran. In exchange for the missiles, Tehran is seeking to acquire Su-35 fighter jets from Moscow.
