United States President Joe Biden reacted to the fall of the Assad regime in Syria.

During a speech in Roosevelt Hall, the American leader called it a fundamental act of justice for the Syrian people, CNN reports.

“Finally, the Assad regime has fallen. This regime has abused, tortured, and murdered literally hundreds of thousands of innocent Syrians.

The fall of the regime is a fundamental act of justice.

This is a moment of historic opportunity for the long-suffering people of Syria to build a better future for their proud country,” he said.

Biden said the United States will work with partners and stakeholders in Syria, as well as with all Syrian groups, to ensure a transition to an independent, sovereign Syria with a new constitution and government.

“We will support Syria’s neighbors, including Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, and Israel, should any threat arise from Syria during this transitional period. The United States will help ensure stability in eastern Syria by protecting personnel from any threats, and our mission against ISIS will continue,” he added.

The American president also added that Bashar Assad must be held accountable: “We don’t know exactly where he is, but there is information that he is in Moscow,” Biden noted.

  1. It’s in particular a historic oppurtunity to push the syrian ‘refugee’ trash back home so they all can enjoy their Afghanistan 2.0.
