Oleksiy Danilov , secretary of the National Security and Defense Council , said that Germany was never able to properly apologize to Ukrainians for Nazi crimes during World War II.
He announced this in an interview with the Associated Press .
He also noted that Ukraine needs more Western weapons. “This is our only request to our partners – give us more weapons to protect ourselves,” Danilov said.
The NSDC secretary criticized Germany for refusing to provide weapons to Ukraine, saying that Berlin also failed to properly apologize to Ukrainians for Nazi crimes during World War II when Ukraine was part of the Soviet Union.
“Unfortunately, they have not apologized for killing millions of our citizens,” he said. “They apologize to the Russians as if we are one country. Then they should not talk about democracy, but say that they support authoritarian regimes and cooperate with them,” Danilov said.
Recall that Danilov also said that Ukraine does not intend to implement the Minsk agreements, since an attempt to implement them could provoke internal unrest that will benefit Moscow.
