Belousov will drain army budget better than Shoigu: expert on Russia’s new defense minister

14 may, 2024

Oleksandr Kovalenko, a military and political observer of the Information Resistance group, noted that Russia’s new Defense Minister Andrei Belousov does not understand military affairs

He said this on the Espreso TV channel.

“I was surprised that Belousov was appointed to the post of Russian Defense Minister. He is a cybernetic economist, and he is far from military affairs. Most likely, this appointment is more of an audit. There are two points here: either it is an audit and a rational approach to the use of resources and the budget allocated to the Russian army. Or, if you look at it realistically, it is most likely an idealization of the format of corruption schemes that existed during Shoigu’s time,” Kovalenko said.

According to the military and political observer of the Information Resistance group, Shoigu did not understand military affairs, and Belousov is even less knowledgeable in military things.

“Perhaps Belousov, which will be negative for us, will use funds more rationally for certain operations. Or, which would be a better option for us, he will be better than Shoigu at swindling the budget of the Russian army,” Kovalenko suggested.

  • On May 12, Russian dictator Putin announced personnel changes in the Kremlin government – Sergei Shoigu is to be replaced as Russia’s Defense Minister by Andrei Belousov, who was first deputy prime minister in the previous government.

  1. “Perhaps Belousov, which will be negative for us, will use funds more rationally for certain operations. Or, which would be a better option for us, he will be better than Shoigu at swindling the budget of the Russian army,”

Being a close skid mark to the dwarf, who is the most corrupt creature in mafia land, it’s safe to say that the second part of the quote above is what will happen.
At any rate, even assuming the first part is true, a single person will not be able to root out corruption in mafia land, including its military. It would take an army of honest people and ten years to accomplish this … and a leader who is himself not deeply corrupt.

    • Inside Russia says this will be a good move for Ukraine, it means Putler will be doing his Stalin bit, and running the war. This Belousov is just a coin counter, and will be no threat to Putler at all, because he will have zero respect from the military.

  2. We can only hope that the new guy will make the corruption at the defence department even worse. But he’s got Putin breathing down his neck and has to be concerned about falling out of a window, so I’m not certain he’ll dare to support any shady deals. Time will tell. 😕

    • Mr. Gray, this guy has no inkling about military matters. Making him the minister of defense has the same value as making UVDL Germany’s minister of defense.
