The Belarusian Foreign Ministry declares that it respects and understands the decision of the Russian elite to recognize the Kremlin’s puppets “LDNR” , but evaded their recognition.

This is stated in the message of the Belarusian ministry on Facebook .

The country’s Foreign Ministry complained about sanctions pressure from the West and the use of allegedly aggressive rhetoric against Belarus: “A direct consequence was the rapid growth of tension in the Eastern European region, as well as the degradation of the international security system that has been created for decades.”

“In such a situation, we perceive with respect and understanding the decision of the Russian side to recognize the independence of the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics. This step by Russia has not only a political, but also a serious human, humanitarian dimension, given the number of Russian citizens living in these territories, .. .and the desire to live in peace and harmony between peoples is in our genetic code,” the Belarusian Foreign Ministry says.

Belarus stated that it stands for diplomatic methods of resolving the conflict in Donbass, and is ready to contribute to this.
