On August 28, Alyaksandr Lukashenka threatened neighbouring Poland and Lithuania to limit their transit through Belarus. He also admitted that Minsk contributed to smuggling sanctioned goods to Russia.
“We are going to show them what sanctions are. They (Poles and Lithuanians) transited our territory to trade with China and Russia. Now they will fly either through the Baltic Sea or the Black Sea to trade with Russia and so on. In terms of the embargoed products (food products embargoed by Russia) I suggest they forget about them. We will show them what sanctions are,” state-run news agency BelTA quotes him.
According to him, there have been attempts to intimidate Belarus with the help of ‘tanks and missiles’. He believes that the West might use Belarus as a starting venue for an attack on Russia and needs it only as ‘a market to sell their products’.
“They need to remove this government and install another one which will appeal to a foreign state to send in troops and provide support,” he said.
Speaking about external military threats, Lukashenka said that 18 American F-16 Fighting Falcons were redeployed from Berlin to the place which is ‘some 15-20 minutes of flying time to Belarus’ borders’ and suggested they might have carried nuclear weapons. He also expressed his readiness to ‘respond’.
A day earlier, Russian president Vladimir Putin said that Russia had formed a reserve force of law enforcement officers ‘to help Belarus if necessary’ at the request of his counterpart Alyaksandr Lukashenka.

The only response from this vodka soaked paranoid ex president is the Kremlinesque amount of whining.
I wonder if he checks under his bed for the CIA every night?
No bed for Luka! Being a good old Soviet potato farmer, he would sleep on a bail of hay in the pig stye.
We have our own protests, against the rule of law. No time to spare for the little Gestapo man from BeltaRus…
One can get easily from Kaunas to Warsaw, and from there to Lviv. No Belarus needed. And the Baltic States border RuSSia, no need to cross BeltaRus. And who trades with Muscovy anyway?
He’s full of shit. The only thing that would be helpful to Ukraine would be democracy and a friendly, west-leaning regime there. Can’t see that happening somehow.
The place is already crawling with Russians just waiting for an excuse to unleash mayhem and murder. I have a feeling it will all kick off this weekend. The West will look on with indifference, coming out with their stock statements whenever Russia are involved in anything, and that will be that. Belarus will officially become part of Russia.
The thieving cunts will already be preparing a fake referendum to seal the deal in a Crimea re-run. And no one will do fuck all about it.
The EU will ban belarussian sea food in response…
Don’t you just love the rantings of a mad man!
As for his ‘Sanctions’, has the thick cunt never looked a t a Map?
Perhaps they are still not allowed Maps there.
That last bit reminded me of the time when Maps weren’t available or even allowed in the USSR. Wonderful place to live.
The official reason of course, in true paranoid Commie style, ‘They could be of use to the Enemy’.
In reality they needed the paper for brain washing propaganda.
