Ararat Mirzoyan noted that the European Union and the United States support democratic reforms in Armenia.

There is talk in Armenia about joining the European Union. The country’s authorities want to expand the circle of partners.
“Taking into account all the challenges that we have been forced to confront over the past three or four years, new opportunities are being actively discussed in Armenia. I will not reveal a secret if I say that there is also the idea of EU membership,” Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said in an interview with a Turkish TV channel TRT World.
According to him, the people of Armenia have European aspirations, and the European Union and the United States support democratic reforms in the country. At the same time, he pointed out that it is important for Yerevan to expand the circle of partners and allies, so we are talking about deepening relations with the United States, the EU, the East, and also India.
“It is also a priority to regulate relations with our neighbors,” the diplomat emphasized.
It is worth noting that Armenia began to change its foreign policy and move away from the Russian Federation after the criminal and bloody invasion of Ukraine.

Sure they do, they’re desperately looking for a new security partner. But what’s in this for the EU, except trouble? I don’t even see an advantage in letting Georgia in, and Armenia’s even worse. Imho the Community should be more careful in considering the pros and cons. 😕
They only became pro-Western since a few months.
Let’s first reform and maintain this attitude.
I think it is way too early to speak about this.

Exactly, Bert! 👋😎
This desire will make the mafiosi want to invade Armenia.
Sure. But they can’t spare an army for that now. As long as the Ukraine war drags on, Armenia’s safe. After that, all bets are open. If Putin survives defeat, he’ll want a fast and certain victory to restore his strongman reputation. The victim needs to be a country small and weak enough to be an easy prey for the remains of the RuSSian army. Armenia and Georgia are the most likely candidates for that, imho. 😕
