In December 2019, the average nominal salary in Ukraine amounted to UAH 12,264, which is 16% higher compared with December 2018, according to the State Statistics Service.
“The average nominal salary of a full-time employee of enterprises, institutions and organizations was UAH 12,264 in December 2019, which is 2.9 times higher than the minimum wage (UAH 4,173). The average nominal salary rose by 14.8% compared with November and by 16.0% over the last 12 months (compared to December 2018),” reads the report.
The highest nominal salaries in December were recorded in the financial and insurance sector – UAH 22,198 (up 22.7% year-on-year), in the state governance and defense, compulsory social insurance – UAH 20,360 (up 18.4%), the information and telecommunications sector – UAH 19,635 (up 26.5%).
The lowers nominal salaries in December were recorded in the sectors of temporary accommodation and catering – UAH 7,280 (up 7.0% from December 2018), in the healthcare and social assistance sectors – UAH 9,412 (up 14.7%), and in the agriculture, forestry and fishery sectors – UAH 9,412 (up 14.7%).
As reported, according to the State Statistics Service, the average nominal salary in December 2018 amounted to UAH 10,573, which was 20.5% higher than in December 2017.

If they can sustain that growth, the economy should start rapid growth too. Pre the 2008 crash, it was growing at 10%/year. If they can get back to that again and keep it going, then there will be good times ahead.
