Australia imposes new sanctions against russia

Australia has imposed new sanctions against a number of russians and companies from the aggressor country of russia. This time, 37 people and seven organizations have been added to the list. This is announced in a statement by the Australian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“The Minister for Foreign Affairs has by legislative act identified individuals and organizations for targeted financial sanctions and announced persons to whom a travel ban applies in accordance with the Autonomous Sanctions Rules 2011. 37 individuals and 7 organizations included in the list have been added to the sanctions list,” it says.

In particular, russian singer-propagandist Yaroslav Dronov (better known under the pseudonym Shaman) fell under Australian sanctions. Sanctions were also imposed against members of the management of a number of russian companies.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in January 2025, it became known that the russian occupiers could have executed Australian volunteer Oscar Jenkins, who fought on the side of Ukraine. A video of the brutal interrogation of the man, who spoke English, was published on social networks.

It was also reported that in November 2024, Australia joined the International Coalition of Countries for the Return of Ukrainian Children.
