The russian claims of “rebuilding” Mariupol are pure propaganda. They savagely bombed the city into destruction, burying its peaceful residents — including many children — under the ruins en masse. Updated Google maps captured the scale of devastation.

Attempts to whitewash genocide and these war crimes must be decisively rejected.

People stopped listening to the Russians years ago. Nothing they say is honest or real. Not worth wasting energy and time even considering their words. They were told as much in the EU session recently and also at the UN. Even Trump called them a PAPER TIGER.

………………….

Mariupol is also referenced today in the following piece from Peter J. Worswick.

Putin is testing Europe’s borders – and so far he’s learning more from our hesitation than from our strength.

In recent weeks, Russian drones have entered Polish airspace. Fighter jets have violated Estonian skies. Copenhagen airport shut down because of drone activity. These are not accidents. They are probes.

And what has Europe done?

Condemnations. Diplomatic notes. NATO and UN meetings. Statements of ‘serious concern.’ In other words: words – carefully measured, repeated, and received in Moscow as little more than empty signals.

This is exactly the calculation Putin is making. Each unchallenged drone, each fighter jet that crosses borders without consequence, confirms that Europe is still not treating this war as its own. He is mapping Europe’s red lines – and discovering that, for now, they exist mostly on paper.

Meanwhile, Ukraine strikes deep inside Russia. Drone attacks on oil refineries disrupt the fuel for Moscow’s war machine and the revenues that fund its aggression. It is Ukraine – under relentless attack, but unyielding – forcing Russia to pay a price.

Europe cannot be content with ‘measured’ responses. Borders are not negotiable. Strategic readiness is more than empty diplomatic notes. Europe must demonstrate it can defend its airspace, coordinate air defence, intercept incursions, and make clear: hostile actions will be met with force.

Mariupol is a warning. A city flattened. Civilians buried in basements and mass graves. A community erased while the world watched. Hesitation has a cost.

Putin’s pattern is simple: push, observe, push again. The danger is Europe’s pattern is becoming just as predictable: protest, wait, hope.

The question is no longer whether Russia’s war will spill outward – it already has. The question is when Europe will move from words to action.

Totally agree Peter. Sadly, it seems if will be Ukraine with its drone tech attacks on Russia’s fuel production which will drive the end of this War.

Isn’t it disgusting to the point of having to vomit when we still talk about Europe’s cowardice?
