As of the morning of May 26, the death toll in Kharkiv has more than doubled due to yesterday’s Russian bomb attack on the Epicenter hypermarket .

This was announced this morning by the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleg Sinegubov. As is known, yesterday evening it was known about 5 dead, about 40 injured and 17 missing.

“Unfortunately, the number of dead in the Epicenter has increased to 11 people,” the official wrote on his Telegram channel.

Updated at 8:11 am. The Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported that the number of victims has already increased to 12 people. At the same time, 10 of them are still unidentified.

“43 people were injured. As for the rocket attack on the center of Kharkiv, the number of victims has already increased to 25 people, among them a 14-year-old boy. In total, as a result of Russian strikes on Kharkiv yesterday, twelve people have been killed and 68 civilians injured,” – it is said in the application. 

Shelling of Kharkov

During Saturday, May 25, the Russian occupying forces shelled Kharkiv several times. 

In particular, the invaders hit the Epicenter hypermarket in Kharkiv in the afternoon of May 25 with UMPB D-30 air bombs.

In the evening, the Russians struck another  blow at Kharkiv,  the fourth in a day. Local authorities reported that the occupiers shelled the central part of the city. It is already known about 18 victims as a result of the attack, including a 13-year-old boy.

Valery Romanenko, an aviation expert and a leading researcher at NAU, said that the Russians knew where they were hitting . The UMPB D-30 ammunition has sufficient accuracy.

“What was laid, in any case, with some deviation – it can be a dozen meters, no more. It hits exactly where it was directed. Therefore, if the Russians wanted to get to the hypermarket – they, in fact, sent these coordinates there and entered in the guidance system of this ammunition,” Romanenko explained.
