The historic synagogue on Peresyp was seriously damaged as a result of the Russian night attack on Odessa.
After the drone attack, the building caught fire, a Dumskaya correspondent reports.

According to Odessa Chief Rabbi Shlomo Bakht, the synagogue has not been used in recent years, but for many generations it was a house of prayer, remembrance and holiness, where ancient scrolls and books were kept.
The Jewish community of Odessa calls on world leaders and human rights organizations to immediately and unequivocally condemn these repeated acts of aggression.
“When a house of prayer is attacked, I expect the world to strongly condemn this act of cruelty. Senseless attacks against religious buildings and civilians are a moral threshold that is crossed too often. It must stop. Our communities, our children, and our holy sites deserve to be protected, not destroyed,” said Rafael Kruskal, vice president of the Jewish community of Odessa and CEO of Tikva.
Back in 2012, a Dumskaya correspondent visited this religious building and witnessed a culinary-religious ritual. We wrote about it in more detail here .
