Arson of Ukrainian UAV factory prevented in Slovakia, – media

Two suspects were detained in Slovakia, and the third was arrested in Germany.

On August 25, Slovak police detained three foreign nationals on suspicion of conspiring to set fire to the Skyeton factory, which is owned by Ukraine and produces modern drones . This was reported by Dennik N.

According to the publication, this incident was one of the first known attempts to attack a military equipment manufacturing facility in Slovakia.

Two suspects were detained in Slovakia, while the third was arrested in Germany on the basis of a European arrest warrant. Slovak police did not disclose the nationality of the detainees.

Police said the actions of the alleged conspirators could have triggered a “large-scale fire” at the enterprise, where about 70 people were at the time of the arson, and the damage was estimated at “tens of millions of euros.”

Police seized an incendiary mixture of gasoline and polystyrene – a homemade analogue of napalm – as well as tools, mobile phones, an action camera and a hand-drawn map of the business they allegedly planned to set on fire.

It is worth noting that Skyeton announced plans to open a production facility in Hanisk, near Prešov, the third largest city in Slovakia, in the spring of 2024. The Ukrainian company expects that by the end of 2025, the new enterprise will employ up to 200 people.
