An MP from the ruling Servant of the People party has revealed to hromadske that around 100 of their colleagues received threats via mobile text prior to a key vote on the so-called “anti-Kolomoisky” bill.
The text reads: “Hello, servant of the people. I want to give you some advice. I advise you not to vote for the law that would forbid returning banks. If you have even a little bit of brains, then you already understand that [Ukrainian president Volodymyr] Zelenskyy is a clown and no one fears him. He has no power. And if you vote for this law, then you’ll become an enemy for life of [oligarch Ihor] Kolomoisky. Power changes, but Kolomoisky is forever, remember that. Kolomoisky will be hunting you down for your whole life. He won’t let you live. Zelenskyy has a few years and then he’ll leave, but you have to live in this country.”
The MP said that they would not be turning to the police.
“Well, this is just absurd, and the police are overwhelmed as-is, just like other law enforcement bodies,” commented the MP.
The so-called anti-Kolomoisky bill was passed on March 30, preventing the return of nationalized Privatbank to its former owners, Kolomoisky and Gennadiy Bogolyubov.
This bill, in addition to the land market bill also passed in the same parliamentary session, were two key requirements for the continuation of IMF cooperation with Ukraine.
