All Russian servicemen who drop their weapons are immediately handed over to the special services for the exchange of prisoners.

Units of several divisions of the RF Armed Forces were unable to escape from Izyum in time and were surrounded by Ukrainian defenders.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces officially launched a counteroffensive in the south at the end of August. As of September 9,  according to the calculations of the Institute for the Study of War , the defenders recaptured 2.5 thousand square kilometers from the enemy.

According to the representative of OK “Pivden” Natalia Gumenyuk, the Armed Forces of Ukraine in different directions in the south  advanced to a distance of two to several tens of kilometers .

The counter-offensive in the south continues simultaneously with the operations of Ukrainian forces on the Kharkiv-Izyum line. Ukrainian forces continue to attack Russian pontoon and ferry crossings in the south on a daily basis, but maintain a severe operational silence.

On September 8, the Armed Forces of Ukraine officially reported to the President  on the liberation of Balakleya,  Kharkiv region. On the morning of September 10, information appeared about the liberation of  Kupyansk .

According to analysts, Ukrainian troops could create a threat to  encircle enemy forces in Izyum.  British intelligence officers, in turn, state that the  attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Kharkov was unexpected for the Russians .

So far, the Russian command has responded with a demonstration of pulling “reserves” to the broken groups.

On the evening of September 9, the United States for the first time called the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Kherson a “counteroffensive.” On the eve of the head of the Pentagon, Lloyd Austin said that he considers  the operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine “inspiring” , and the head of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, Mark Milley  , sees it as “steady progress” .

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have already eliminated 52,150 invaders and thousands of enemy equipment.
