In Kyiv, two men were killed during an armed conflict on the territory of a garage cooperative.

As reported by Censor.NET , this was stated in a Facebook post by the Deputy Head of the National Police of Ukraine, Andriy Nebytov.

Criminal investigation officers quickly detained the suspect in the shooting, who turned out to be an illegal immigrant from the Caucasus. According to the investigation, two of his fellow countrymen came to him with claims over the division of profits from apartment thefts. During an argument, the man pulled out a weapon and shot both visitors. One of them died at the scene, and the other later died in a hospital ward from serious injuries.

Law enforcement officers found out that the deceased robbed Ukrainians’ homes during the power outages after enemy shelling. They even stole the gun they were killed with from someone else’s apartment. The police had already documented the activities of this group and were following their trail, so they quickly identified the shooter.

Andriy Nebitov commented on the details of the incident:

“This case is very indicative. People from the Caucasus opened fire right on the street – on the territory of a garage and construction cooperative. Two with a pistol came to their compatriot with claims, but during the conflict he grabbed the weapon and killed both of them. One, also an illegal migrant, was killed on the spot. The other died of serious injuries in the hospital,” he added.

Statistics of crimes among foreigners for the first five months of the year

In total, during the first five months of 2026, law enforcement agencies brought 48 foreign citizens and stateless persons to criminal responsibility. During this period, foreigners committed 473 criminal offenses.

Among the recorded crimes, the largest share is made up of thefts, robberies, robberies and frauds – a total of 102 cases. Law enforcement officers also documented 83 crimes in the field of drug trafficking and 37 facts of illegal handling of weapons and ammunition.
