On the night of September 18, Russia again came under attack from drones. Explosions were heard in several regions of the Russian Federation.
In Volgograd, a fire was recorded near the oil refinery after the attack, fires were recorded in the Rostov region, and the airport in Saratov was closed. The first details about the noisy night in Russia were revealed by the head of the Center for the Study of Occupation, Petro Andryuschenko.
What is known about the consequences of the night attack on Russia?
It was a loud night in Volgograd, Russia : from 01:00 to 02:40, city residents heard from 10 to 115 powerful explosions.
After them, NASA satellites recorded a fire in the area of ”LUKOIL-Volgogradneftepererabotka” (design oil refining capacity – up to 15.7 million tons/year).
It is known that during the attack the Internet was turned off in the regional center. The “Carpet” plan was also implemented at the Volgograd airport: restrictions were lifted only at 05:45.
Officials in the region remain silent. And the results of the attack, Andryuschenko emphasized, require clarification.
After some time, he added, citing the words of locals: it seems that the refinery has got hit.
“Volgograd. Exclusive fact-checking from our people from the city.” It landed in the Krasnoarmiysky district, where “LUKOIL” is. The video is not clearly visible, the photo shows where the outbreak was. A fire is recorded in the area of the enterprise. “Now we are waiting for official reports on the severity of the consequences. There is definitely a hit. The sources have been checked,” Andryuschenko wrote, adding the video and the aforementioned screenshot to the message.
The Rostov region of the Russian Federation did not lag behind Volgograd.
” A hit was recorded in Gukovo in the Krasnosulinsky district. Air defense work was also recorded in Novoshakhtynsk, Belaya Kalitva, Kamensky, Oktyabrsky, Morozovsky, Millerovsky and Chertkovsky districts. The consequences need to be clarified, the official Rostov partially confirms the hit with the version of “burning grass,” – said Andryuschenko.
Russian air defenses were also operating in Saratov at night. The “Kilym” plan for the local airport was announced. As in previous cases, the results of the hits have yet to be determined.
“Air defense operations were also recorded in Kursk, Belgorod, and Bryansk,” Andryuschenko recounted.
Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry said that 43 drones were allegedly shot down overnight. Of these, 23 were over Rostov, 11 over Volgograd, 5 over Kursk, and 1 over Belgorod regions. The occupiers also claim that 3 UAVs were allegedly destroyed over temporarily occupied Crimea.
OBOZ.UA previously reported that a powerful explosion occurred at a military depot in Vladivostok on September 16. Security forces were called to the scene, and the Russians suspected the work of saboteurs.
To some extent, these suspicions were confirmed that same day: it became known that the explosions in Vladivostok were a GUR operation, and Putin’s troops had suffered losses.
Ukraine provided another wonderful night for the cockroaches. Let’s hope these targets were destroyed.
