German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock (Greens) sees the Moscow-financed propaganda website “Voice of Europe” as part of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s war arsenal.

According to Germany’s Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock (Greens), the Moscow-financed propaganda campaign via the “Voice of Europe” website is part of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s war arsenal. This war is not only waged with its military, “but also with fake news, manipulation and targeted influence,” the minister told the newspapers of the Funke media group. This is just one example of how the Kremlin leader wants to “destruct our democracy.”

On Wednesday, the Czech government said its secret service had uncovered a Moscow-funded propaganda network that used the Prague-based news site Voice of Europe to drum up sentiment in the EU against Ukraine’s support in the war against Russia.

With a view to a possible escalation of the war in Ukraine, Baerbock said: “There is no longer any limit to brutality in Putin’s war.” The Russian president makes it more than clear “that he is not accessible to rational arguments and values of humanity.” He also rules out negotiations.

Baerbock: Putin uses suffering in his own country for war propaganda

After the attack on a concert hall near Moscow, Putin himself used the grief and suffering in his own country for his war propaganda, Baerbock said in the interview. At least 143 people were killed in the attack, which the jihadist militia Islamic State (IS) claimed as its own. Despite the Islamists’ confession, Moscow points to ties to Ukraine.

However, Germany and Europe were not intimidated by the Kremlin chief’s course, emphasized the Foreign Minister. “We can only win peace and humanity in Europe through our own strength.” A victory for Putin would endanger security in Europe and the international order, Baerbock told the Funke newspapers. Therefore, supporting Ukraine is “our own security guarantee.”

The minister once again ruled out the possibility that the West would send ground troops to support Ukraine. “We made it clear from the beginning that we would never allow this,” she emphasized. “And that’s true.”

The discussion about deploying Western soldiers to Ukraine was sparked last month by French President Emmanuel Macron. He had not ruled out the use of ground troops by his country in Ukraine – and reiterated this position several times. Numerous Western countries, including Germany, had distanced themselves from the proposal. (afp/mbo) © AFP

  1. “The Russian (pseudo–OFP) president makes it more than clear ‘that he is not accessible to rational arguments and values of humanity.’ He also rules out negotiations.”

I wish every “man” in Western politics is as courageous and clear minded as Annalena Baerbock. Alas, too many still wet their panties whenever the rat or one of his shit stains utter a threat.
Anyway, she has recognized mafia land for what it is. The fascists in the cesspool must be defeated, and the best way to do it is to hand over to Ukraine everything it needs. If it was up to Mrs. Baerbock, Ukraine would already have Taurus missiles … every one of them.

    • Yeah, Baerbock has surprised many Germans with her clear and committed stance in the Ukraine war. I didn’t vote for her party, which generally is too woke and unrealistic for my linking, but our foreign minister gained my respect. Not bad at all. 🙂

      • I was also not so impressed with the greens in the past. And, as with you, she has been a real breath of fresh air. She has mastered Realpolitik to a degree that Scholz will never be able to attain, nor most other German politicians.

  2. “The minister once again ruled out the possibility that the West would send ground troops to support Ukraine. “We made it clear from the beginning that we would never allow this,” she emphasized. “And that’s true.”

She just destroyed all her good intentions with that one appalling comment. Fucking music to putler’s ears.
Thanks to Trumpkov’s intervention on the side of the kremlin, putler cannot now be defeated without western troops; in numbers, on the ground in Ukraine and western planes controlling the sky.

    • She is only repeating what her boss keeps saying. Even she still hasn’t fully grasped the reality of the situation that Europe is in, despite her grasp on most other things. Many European (and American) politicians still must get used to the idea of a possible boots on the ground scenario, and this takes longer for some than others. Alas, some will never comprehend this, because they are either bought mafia whores or have a total lack of common sense.

    • Of course, the refusal to even consider sending ground troops is annoying, from the Ukrainian point of view. But please take into account that Germany did seriously demilitarize after the Nazi era. Decades of education and a polutical doctrine that German soldiers shall never again fight in other countries can’t be overcome easily. Even UN peacekeeping missions of the German army are still a very hot topic here. Baerbock and Habeck can’t ignore the overwhelming mood in their party against military interventions abroad.
And secondly, let’s be realistic, the Bundeswehr has disturbingly few combat units ready for deployment. Many of them are in the Baltic states now. There simply are no mighty German Panzer divisions, ready to kick the Russians where it hurts, anymore. And German politicians shouldn’t make promises they can’t keep. Baerbock’s stance is Realpolitik, like it or not.
