According to an analysis, the Tisza party could achieve a two-thirds majority in Hungary’s parliamentary elections. This would allow them to amend the constitution.
According to a new poll, the Hungarian opposition party Tisza has a good chance of winning a two-thirds majority in Sunday’s parliamentary elections . This is the conclusion of an analysis by the Median polling institute. The poll indicates that Tisza, led by challenger Péter Magyar, could win between 138 and 142 of the 199 parliamentary seats. A two-thirds majority requires 133 seats.
Such a majority would allow the party to amend the constitution and fundamental laws, for example, to release blocked EU funds. According to projections, Viktor Orbán’s Fidesz party would win 49 to 55 seats, while the far-right party Mi Hazánk (Our Homeland) would win five or six seats. Fidesz itself has held a two-thirds majority for most of the period since 2010 and has used it to pass a new constitution and change the electoral law.
The Median estimate is based on an analysis of the institute’s five most recent polls, conducted between the end of February and March, with a total of 5,000 respondents. Median is considered one of Hungary’s most reliable polling institutes. It correctly predicted the outcome of the last election four years ago, although it slightly overestimated support for the opposition at that time.

Meanwhile, US Vice President JD Vance, during a visit to Budapest, demonstratively supported Orbán’s government and accused the EU of “election interference.” “Bureaucrats in Brussels” have “done everything in their power to keep the Hungarian people down because they don’t like the prime minister,” Vance said.

A two-third majority is impossible to catch up to, and the visit of Mr. Makeupman, the couch humper, likely made things worse for the fat, ugly, fascist toad.
