A tanker belonging to Turkish company Beşiktaş Denizcilik started sinking off the coast of Senegal, Deniz Haber news agency reported. According to preliminary information, the vessel was carrying oil.
It is not yet known what exactly caused the accident. The M/T MERSİN tanker is 183 meters long, 32 meters wide and has a carrying capacity of 50,000 tons of crude oil. According to the portal, the vessel was built in 2009. The tanker sails under the flag of Panama. It is noted that the tanker entered Russia.
