🇪🇺🇺🇸🇺🇦 Western capitals have drafted a security plan for Ukraine that would begin with a demilitarised zone, patrolled by neutral peacekeepers acceptable to both Kyiv and Moscow, – FT Behind it, Ukrainian forces armed and trained by NATO would hold a fortified border.

A European-led deterrence force, backed by US support, would provide a third line of defence deeper inside Ukraine. The proposal is part of ongoing efforts to secure Ukraine while avoiding direct NATO-Russia confrontation.

Wouldn’t a defeat of Russia be cleaner, cheaper, easier and safer?
midnitez.bsky.social @midnitez.bsky.social
it would, and I will say this over and over, I always believed that was the sole purpose of creating NATO, after ww2 result, to defend against an eventual new russian hitler. I was so wrong. If NATO threw russia out of Ukraine, problem solved. Why they don’t dare? I dunno, If they could? I dunno.

Who the fuck is asking for peacekeeping force? Ukraine isn’t a fucking failed state, and can patrol it’s own border.

Guessing that Moscow will reject this in less than 30 seconds.

And everyone working on the plan knows it. They just want Putin to reject Trump’s bogus peace initiative.
MFlowerhat @mflowerhat.bsky.social
Curiously, they are proposing a “buffer zone” between NATO, Ukraine and russia. I.e. they make russia to reject the very thing they claimed they were after in the first place.

Even better, blow up another 20% of Russias refining capability and wave goodbye as they retreat from Ukraine. Cowards.
midnitez.bsky.social @midnitez.bsky.social
it sounds so totally over complicated compared to NATO throwing russia out of Ukraine.. I refuse to believe that 30+ countries could not do that..
RAFella @rafella.nafofellas.com
Something like this I heard here. It’s basically to wait for russian economical collapse.

I hope they are armed and allowed to shoot back at Russian when they come again …inevitably.

Putin won’t accept this since it makes it harder to get Ukraine to himself. He doesn’t like obstacles to his goal.

Ukrainian Defender Stanislav Panchenko has defended Ukraine since 2017. In 2019, he was taken into Russian captivity in Donetsk region. Stanislav was sentenced to 19 years in prison on fabricated charges of “illegal seizure of power.”
A small kitten was brought into the colony in Russian-occupied Makiivka where Stanislav was held seversl years after he was taken prisoner. He named the kitten Myshko.
Myshko and Stanislav spent 4,5 years in the colony together. Finally, Stanislav was exchanged in August, after almost seven years in a Russian prison. He took Myshko with him.
“We decided that whoever gets released first will take the cat with them. So, in the winter, we asked the inmates who were involved in the sewing production line to make a special bag with reinforced sides and bottom to bring Myshko to freedom comfortably. The guards confiscated this bag from us three times. But fortunately, we always managed to get it back,” Stanislav shared.
Now Myshko lives with Stanislav and both are gaining weight. According to Stanislav, the cat is very smart and affectionate. The Defender hopes that his brother-in-arms, with whom they raised Myshko and who has been in captivity for more than seven years, will soon be part of an exchange as well.
