In Yakutia, an An-3 “Borus” plane crashed during takeoff from the airport , one passenger was killed, Russian media reported.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Yakutia , there were five people on board – three crew members and two passengers, one of the passengers died. Photos were also published showing that the plane crashed in the forest.

According to Baza TV channel, the plane was flying on the route Olekminsk – Zheleznogorsk-Ilimskyi – Ust-Kut. However, during takeoff from Olekminsk airport, his engine failed.

“The pilot made a decision to make an emergency landing at the airport of departure, but he did not have time to reach the airport – the plane fell 1.5 km from the city,” the message reads.

An-3 is a version of the cargo-passenger aircraft An-2, known as “Kukuruznyk”. The plane was produced in Omsk at the “Polit” production association in 2000-2009, a total of 25 machines were produced.
