Only 14% of those surveyed believe that Russia will be able to capture all of Ukraine.
More than 40% of Americans believe that Russia is currently winning the war , while only a little more than 10% believe that it is capable of capturing all of Ukraine, according to a poll conducted by the Ronald Reagan Institute, UP reports .

For example, 41% of respondents believe that Russia is currently winning the war, with this perception more prevalent among 45% of Donald Trump voters. Those who believe that Ukraine is winning are almost half as many – 24%, with Kamala Harris voters (29%) expressing more optimism than Trump voters (21%). Another 22% believe that neither side has an advantage.
At the same time, more than a third of those surveyed (33%) predict that Russia will seize part of Ukrainian territory, but only 14% believe that Russia will seize all of Ukraine. 26% of respondents believe that the war will drag on indefinitely, while only 17% believe that Ukraine will completely push Russia out of its territory.
Also, the majority of respondents (59%) believe that Ukraine will negotiate peace, even if it means conceding part of its territory to Russia.
In addition, the vast majority of those surveyed fear that the war in Ukraine will have broader consequences.
Thus, 78% fear expansion into NATO countries, and 75% fear that it could push other authoritarian regimes to invade democratic neighboring countries.
Also, more than three-quarters (76%) of US citizens believe that Russia could launch a nuclear strike on Ukraine , which is 10 percentage points more than in 2021.
