American volunteers Ty Wingate Jones and Brian Zuckerl died in the fighting for Ukraine

In early December, International Legion servicemen, US citizens Ty Wingate Jones and Brian Zuckerl, were killed while performing a combat mission in the war in Ukraine.

This was reported on social networks by the International Legion of the Ministry of Defense and written by Newsweek ,  Censor.NET reports .

What is known

  • Ty Wingate Jones and Brian Zuckerl served in the Legion under the command of the Ukrainian Military Intelligence Service (GUR). Family members separately confirmed the deaths of the servicemen on social media.
  • Zakerl, 29, is survived by his wife and two children, while Jones is survived by his pregnant wife.

“We are all deeply saddened, but very proud,” Michael Zuckerl, who called Brian his nephew, wrote in a Facebook post.

He said on December 5 that Brian “died in action a few days ago” at the age of 29, adding that his wife Kim and two children are in Kyiv, “waiting for conditions that will allow his body to be removed from the battlefield.” 

Amber Jones, Ty’s sister, said her brother was killed when a Russian drone struck the medical armored personnel carrier he was in. He died on December 3.

    Attacking an ambulance is a war crime, thus this was murder.
