Things could be much worse than this prospect.
The deregulation of the system of international relations will push countries whose nuclear program is out of reach to turn to chemical or bacteriological weapons options.
We could enter a truly dangerous area for humanity, if each country feels the need to ensure its sovereignty and its borders independently of alliances and mutual protection or without relying on international organizations supposed to protect them or regulate interstate tensions.
