In the ambushed Russian military convoy near Rylsk, Kursk region, on the night of August 9, there were servicemen of at least two military units – military unit 13140 (810th Marine Brigade, temporarily occupied Sevastopol) and military unit 72164 (Leningrad region, Russian Federation), writes ASTRA .

It is noted that the exact number of dead, wounded and missing Russian soldiers as a result of this attack by the Armed Forces is unknown: “Relatives are exchanging conflicting information among themselves, where the number of 96, and in some cases even 300 dead people appears. However, there is no confirmation of this information.”

Journalists have confirmed the identities of the two dead in the column – they are servicemen of military unit 13140 and cousins ​​from the Astrakhan region – Mykola Linkov and Ruslan Gelyazhev. Mykola’s mother said that she learned about their death thanks to the fact that one of their relatives survived the shelling of the convoy.

According to her, the bodies of the brothers were brought to Rostov just now: “There were a lot of them, all the hospitals, all the morgues were full.”

“Servicemen of military unit 72164, who survived the attack on the convoy, are contacting their relatives from hospitals in Moscow and from the forests of the Kursk region, relatives report. Those who were not injured were sent to positions near Kursk, their new location they don’t know… Some of the soldiers who survived escaped, their whereabouts are unknown,” the publication says.

It is claimed that the convoy was hit by a HIMARS multiple-launch rocket system.
