“All evil inevitably comes to an end”

President Zelensky

May 8, 2025

President Zelenskyy marked the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism in World War II with a powerful message to Ukrainians.

Walking down Kyiv’s main street, he recorded a short address, which you can watch in full (with English subtitles). Here are some key highlights:

“Ukraine has not forgotten that 80 years ago, dozens of nations fought against Nazism — and over 8 million Ukrainians lost their lives.”

“This day reminds us of an important truth: all evil inevitably comes to an end. Every occupier eventually leaves our land. Life always returns. And this is exactly what we are standing for today. One day, this will happen again.”

“Either russia must radically change — or the world will have to. Just as it did 80 years ago, when it finally became clear to all: evil cannot be appeased, it must be fought.”

  1. “One day, this will happen again.”

    I agree.
Before this war, before all these atrocities, appeasements, siding with evilness, and cowardice, I thought something like WWII is unlikely to happen again. Too great was the pain and suffering, too much the cost to restore order.
    I was wrong.
Mankind never learns from past mistakes. We are damned to repeat them, no matter how horrid they were.
