  1. Excellent! It’s so impressive what Ukraine’s defenders manage to accomplish, despite being outnumbered and outgunned. These hits against Russian aviation are gonna hurt. Keep up the great work, heroes!

  2. Just got one problem with this article. It is the only source about these planes being shot down, normally this would be huge news, covered by all the Ukrainian outlets. Either it’s propaganda BS, or the other outlets are waiting for official confirmation.

    • Ohkay, Foccusser, but the Ukrainska Pravda is more reliable than any anonymous telegram channel, imho. I can’t imagine they simply make stuff up. Please note, they named their source. Why should this airforce commander invent a phony success and risk disciplinary action? That doesn’t make sense to me. I think the UP was simply a bit faster at getting the news this time.

      • Olehshuk’s telegram posting is very fresh, from 11:56 today. He’s the head of Ukraine’s Air Force, so he was authorized to make this public. This looks official to me.

      • I hope it’s true, we don’t need to resort to orc propaganda. I just find it strange that still no other source has mentioned these planes.

    • I checked. Only Reuters has this news. This seems to have happened back in December 2023, not today. Otherwise all ukrainian sites would be reporting this. Seems pravda is partly controlled by Zelensky. But we have to wait some more time before throwing false accusations at anybody.

      • Nobody is throwing false accusations. If a story only has one source, it has to be treated with caution.

        • That’s not an obscure source, though, but Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk himself, Head of Ukraine’s Air Force. Exactly the guy who would make such an announcement public. Let’s not forget, the AFU doesn’t like subordinates to spread informations on social media, but wants them to leave that to high command instead. The only issue I see with that posting is that it may be a recent edit of an older message. But that would be weird.

          • The wording in Ukrainian on the Telegram channel clearly states that this happened this morning.

      • Click on the link to the telegram channel of Olehshuk, please. It’s in the article above, next to “Source:”. That posting is timestamped “Feb 17 at 11:56”. How to interprete that? Is that a new message or did Olehshuk very belatedly edit an old one from last December, for reasons unknown? 🤔

        • The fall of Avdiivka was confirmed at 06.18 am CET. Someone may have felt the need to calm downe the people with some fake news?…

          • You think the Head of the Ukrainian Air Force would spread fake news, Mike? Or that his ain’t his telegram channel? Are 17.247 subscribers following a fraud? 😳

    • I found it on Obozrevatel, on Ukrinform, MSN, Daily Mail, Espresso, Economic Times, Reuters … 😉

  3. The question remains, and we all need to ignore anything else, why has this info been released again as a repeat?
You can bet your Arse that the moskali will jump on this as fake and make sure the whole world knows it is fake, ignoring the possibility it might be an edit or a mistaken button press.

If it is not something that happened today or yesterday, it needs a disclaimer immediately.

      • Thanks for the confirmation and thank God for that!

We all know what a meal the moskali cocksucking shills would make from a slip like that.

      • No serious news outlet can confirm this, Frank. It’s FAKE NEWS. And fake news will hardly help Ukraine instead of GOP finally approving the aid package so desperately needed.

  4. Another possibility occurs to me, doubtful, but who knows.

The other 2 Planes got away, but to confuse a possible Ukrainian snatch team, dropped their Beacons in random places.

Doubtful the moskali would think of that one, but who knows.

I still prefer to think 3 Planes down, at least one Flyer blown to bits.
