On October 23 and during the night of Saturday, October 24, Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the “Tolyattikauchuk” industrial complex, the “Proton-Elektrotex” plant in Oryol, and an aircraft at the Yeysk airfield.
A corresponding statement was posted on the official page of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As a result of the attack, the main production building of Proton-Elektrotex JSC in the Oryol Oblast was hit. The company is a leading russian manufacturer of optoelectronic equipment and produces modules for the S-71 “Kover” air-to-surface cruise missiles and switch-inverters for the 9M723 “Iskander-M” ballistic missiles. The plant is also involved in the production of Pantsir-S1 air defense systems.
The strike on the russian plant will complicate the production of components for cruise and ballistic missiles, according to the General Staff.
In the city of Tolyatti, Samara Oblast, the “Tolyattikauchuk” plant was struck overnight; an explosion and fire were reported.
The plant produces high-octane gasoline additives and synthetic rubbers used in the production of solid rocket propellant for tactical and ballistic missiles.
At the Yeysk airfield in the Krasnodar Krai, an aircraft was struck; the extent of the damage is being assessed, the General Staff added.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the morning of October 24, a fire was reported in Tolyatti, russia, amid a drone threat.
The defense company Fire Point reported that a chemical plant had been struck by FP-1 drones.
