As stated by the “governor” of Sevastopol, Razvozhaev, the parade was canceled “for security reasons.”

After the destruction of a Russian Su-30 near Novorossiysk by a Ukrainian drone, Russia canceled a Victory Day parade in occupied Sevastopol, the main naval base of the Russian Federation, writes The Telegraph .

The publication states that the statement about the cancellation of the parade “for security reasons” was made public on Monday, May 5, by Russian state media, citing the so-called governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev.

“This decision was made after a strike by a Ukrainian naval drone that destroyed a Russian Su-30 fighter jet near Novorossiysk on May 2,” the material notes.

The publication recalled that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned that Ukraine could not guarantee the safety of foreign officials who would arrive for the parade in Moscow.
