Former Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin stressed that one should not hope that after Putin “there will be someone better” for Ukraine.

Involving people from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine in the State Duma elections is a kind of “handout to the Russian mayor.”
According to an UNIAN correspondent, this was stated by former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin on the air of the program “Right to Power” on the TV channel “1 + 1”.
He noted that in Russia draw any figures on election results therefore for this purpose people from temporarily occupied territories are involved for voting in elections. According to him, in particular, it is necessary in connection with the fact that recently in Donetsk and Luhansk had strikes and protests “usually not pro-Ukrainian” and therefore needed a “handout to the Russian mayor.”
Klimkin said it was difficult to know whether Putin had a plan, but one option was that if “an allied state with Belarus is imprisoned, they will try to accept a joint Donetsk and Luhansk, and then break off other regions from us.”
Klimkin stressed that one should not expect “someone better” after Putin.
“I do not see any pro-Ukrainian politician in Russia today. And there will be someone worse for Ukraine after Putin,” he said.
