A very good day for Ukraine.

Ukraine mounted a very successful assault on Crimea yesterday, sinking another missile carrying ship, striking a radar station and hitting several other important military installations. The increased production in long range drones by Ukraine is significant and is causing Russian air defences big problems. The downing of the airborne Russian air command systems last week opened a corridor for attacks on Crimea. Ukrainian sea drones have now sunk about half of the Russian Black Sea Fleet and caused the remainder to flee further east. Sevastopol is almost devoid of capital ships. Ukraine has no navy, yet Ukraine now controls the Black Sea.

Crimea has always been the key to Ukrainian victory, Donbas aside, if Crimea falls Putin could fall with it. His credibility depends on holding this territory.

F16’s are arriving with trained crews in the next few weeks and will alter the balance of power in the air. This should allow more freedom of movement for ground troops who have been blocked by deep defences including several kilometres of minefields.

Yesterday, the EU overcame the obstructions of Victor Orban to agree a 50 Billion Euro financial support package for Ukraine. This is a good week for the forces of freedom. Long may they continue.

I will be taking a few days off from writing on this platform. It appears that the LinkedIn system reduces one’s coverage the more one writes and the more one adds links. So, a pause seems to be the best solution.

If you follow my work you will know that there is no monetisation through LinedIn. To assist, please take a look at my latest books, including ‘Slava Ukraini! Who Dares Shares’, on my web page. http://www.robinhorsfall.com

I will be discussing mine clearance issues with my colleagues at Ace High Drones this week who have just returned from Kherson.

I will be back soon. 😀

The video of the attack on the missile boat was illuminating. There is a maxim in the RN. Float, to move to fight. From the video the defences of the boat seemed very underwhelming. For a vessel supposedly capable of 45knots should have been able to escape just by speed. Clearly its early warning systems failed miserably to pick up the attackers and then seemes like very limited close in fire power to defend itself. It appears first hit was on the stern to incapacitate the boat and from there on in if you can’t move you can’t fight and ultimately can’t float! It seems like it was utter carnage.

I have respect for all SAS operators and greatly value your opinions. I am a soldier at heart and was appalled by the pacifism that had taken hold in Europe. Politicians who ignored what was happening there and mainly wanted cheap oil and gas took turns visiting Russia. It was disgusting. I really enjoy reading you here and I’m sorry that I won’t see you here for a while.
