A shocking comparison of losses, or How the Russian army turned the war into a conveyor belt of death

Russia has suffered great losses.

The SBS reports that 301 confirmed casualties by objective control were registered during the day. Among the wounded, some are guaranteed not to survive to the sanitary stage – severe injuries from direct drone hits, tourniquet syndrome, sepsis, prolonged evacuation, multiplied by the impossibility of using medical aviation via UAVs and jets.

However, if we consider the scale:

The entire British Empire, with aircraft carriers, amphibious assaults, ship losses, and landings, lost less in three months of fighting for the Falklands than it loses in one day from FPV drones and airdrops.

The entire international coalition of 35 states (including the USA) lost exactly one daily quota during the entire full-scale war against Saddam Hussein’s 600,000-strong army.

During the bloodiest period of the Fallujah assaults and constant landmine explosions, the entire American army in Iraq lost as much in a year as russia currently loses in 2–3 days.

The annual rate of losses of the entire combined group of russian troops in the Second Chechen War (with all the tanks, aircraft, and carpet bombing) is now being exhausted in the same 2–3 days.

The US has lost about 2,450 soldiers in Afghanistan over 20 years. That’s about 8 days of the Russian army’s work in Ukraine.

The US lost about 7,000 a year in Vietnam, and this caused a huge anti-war split in society: mass protests, marches on the Pentagon, hippies and burning of summonses – Mohammed Ali preferred to lose his title and go to prison rather than go to this meat grinder.

Among Russians, this horrific, assembly-line slaughter led to the condemnation of Glukhovsky’s novel, the creation of lists of banned books, and a happy Rulon Oboev leading a widow in a fur coat over her naked body to the cellar. The mysterious Russian soul™ in all its glory.

  1. The difficulty in understanding the Russian is that we do not take cognizance of the fact that he is not a European, but an Asiatic, and therefore thinks deviously. We can no more understand a Russian than a Chinaman or a Japanese, and from what I have seen of them, I have no particular desire to understand them, except to ascertain how much lead or iron it takes to kill them. In addition to his other Asiatic characteristics, the Russian has no regard for human life and is an all out son of bitch, barbarian, and chronic drunk.
