Today in Odessa , a Russian was detained , sentenced in the United States to life imprisonment.

According to the National Police of the Odessa region, the operatives became aware of the whereabouts of a citizen of the Russian Federation, who is on the international wanted list for crimes in the United States.

On Tuesday, January 18, the police, together with the prosecutor’s office, detained a 48-year-old man in accordance with Articles 208 and 582 (features of the detention of a person who committed criminal offenses outside Ukraine) of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

It is noted that the foreigner was sentenced in the United States to life imprisonment for money fraud, debt collection, racketeering, fraud, hacking, drug crimes. A warrant was issued for his arrest, and then the defendant was put on the international wanted list.

According to operational data, the man illegally entered the territory of Ukraine, this information is currently being verified.
