A Russian UAV entered the country’s airspace from the side of Belarus

A Russian military drone crashed on the territory of Latvia on September 7 . This was announced on Twitter by the president of Lavia, Edgars Rinkevichs.

“Yesterday, a Russian military drone crashed in the eastern part of Latvia. An investigation is underway. We are in close contact with our allies,” he wrote, noting that the number of similar incidents on NATO’s eastern flank is increasing, and they need to be resolved jointly.

According to zinas.tv3.lv , referring to the Ministry of Defense of the country, the wreckage was discovered on Saturday in the Rezekne district.

“Currently, the responsible services, in particular the police, continue to investigate the circumstances of the incident. However, the Ministry of Defense indicates that, according to preliminary data, it is a Russian drone of military importance,” the publication notes.

At the same time, according to the data of the National Armed Forces of Latvia, the Russian UAV entered the country’s airspace from the side of Belarus. The armed forces recorded the arrival of an unmanned aerial vehicle on the territory of Latvia, and also tracked its movement and determined the place of its fall.

The investigation of the situation continues. State officials, law enforcement agencies and NATO countries have been informed about the incident.

Russian UAVs fly into neighboring countries

Today, one of the UAVs flew to Romania and reached the city of Sabangia, located approximately 40 kilometers from the border with Ukraine.

On the night of September 7, when the Russian Federation attacked Ukraine again, the flight of 7 “shaheed” and one reconnaissance UAV was recorded in the airspace of Belarus . One of them flew into the Grodno region – and further towards the Lithuanian border, where it disappeared from the radar.

And on August 29, the armed forces of Belarus used aviation for the first time to shoot down the Shahed.

  1. So what? NATO countries must get used to having drones and missiles fly through their airspace now, since NATO doesn’t want anyone provoking mafia land. 🤡
