Volgograd Region resident Dmitry Malyshev, who was sentenced to 25 years in prison for murder and left the colony for the war in Ukraine, has returned to his native village near Volgograd. This was reported by V1.ru with reference to the head of the Rakhinsky rural settlement, Fyodor Kadovba.

“Yes, he came back because he was wounded. He also came back because he was wounded at the beginning of the year, but then he went back. I spoke to him personally. He has problems with his jaw, a fragment in his hand. He seems to be finishing his treatment. The day before yesterday I saw him in the store, we said hello. As he told me, he will finish his treatment now and go back to the SVO zone,” the head of the settlement said. 

It became known in May that Malyshev was participating in the Russian invasion of Ukraine . He signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense in the fall of 2023 while in prison.

In a conversation with V1.ru, Malyshev said that he went to war to preserve Russia’s “traditional values.” According to him, he does not want children in elementary school to be taught “how to put on a condom correctly,” or for men to walk down the street and “lick each other.” 

In May 2015, a court in the Volgograd region sentenced Malyshev to 25 years in prison, 15 of which he was to spend in a maximum security prison. According to investigators, Malyshev killed his acquaintance from Tajikistan, who, according to the man, offered him sex. The court ruling states that Malyshev hit his acquaintance on the head with a crowbar four times, then cut out his heart with a knife and fried it in a frying pan. He filmed the incident.
