“A realistic vision of peace”: Trump wants a new approach from Kyiv to end the war, BBC

The adviser to the US president-elect says that Ukraine should focus on peace, not on the return of territories.

The administration of US President-elect Donald Trump  will focus on achieving peace in the war in Ukraine, not on the return of the occupied territories. This was reported by the BBC with reference to Trump’s adviser Brian Lanza.

According to him, the White House will ask the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, to present his version of a “realistic vision of peace.”

“And if President Zelensky sits down at the table and says: well, we can have peace only if we have Crimea, he shows us that he is not serious,” said Lanza.

The publication reminds that Trump has constantly stated that his priority is to end the war and stop the depletion of US resources. Opponents accused him of favoring Russian ruler Vladimir Putin and said his approach to the war would mean capitulation for Ukraine and would endanger all of Europe.

As Trump’s adviser said, the return of Crimea to Ukraine is unrealistic and “is not the goal of the United States”:

“When Zelenskyi says that hostilities will stop only after the return of Crimea, we have news for President Zelenskyi: Crimea is no more. And if your priority is the return of Crimea and the struggle of American soldiers to return Crimea, do it yourself.”

According to Lanza, he has the utmost respect for the Ukrainian people, but the US priority is “peace and an end to the killings.”

“What we’re going to say to Ukraine is what do you see as a realistic vision of peace? It’s not a vision of victory, but it’s a vision of peace. And let’s start a sincere conversation,” Trump’s adviser explained.

  1. He is simply reiterating what Trumpkov said in a notorious interview with George Stephanopoulos back in 2016.
No expression of sympathy for the indescribable horror inflicted on Ukrainians by his boss’s idol, no expression of support whatsoever for Ukraine.
However they spin this out, it’s going to be land for peace or nix. If Zel accepts, he will be strongly attacked even by his own supporters. If he refuses Trumpkov’s shortly to be presented “peace deal”, another threat presents itself : a serious challenge from a quisling. It might come from someone like Oleksii Arrestovich; a previously loyal to Ukraine politician who morphed into a borderline putlerite.

Ukraine are practically controlling Crimea already. If Merz is elected, the Taurus missiles will complete the job. Ukraine don’t need or want your American soldiers, just the weapons to do the job.
