As i am writing this Ukraine’s president Zelenskyy is in Washington to discuss a possible peace deal. It must be clear that a lasting peace is totally impossible as long a the Kherson and Zaporizhia Oblasts are occupied by the ruSSian terrorists. Any deal that would not include a full return of these two areas must be rejected without mercy. As long as the invaders control these areas they have all lifelines of Ukraine’s heartland in range. The only way to accept such risk would be Ukraine’s instant NATO membership. A deal that would force Ukraine to give up their positions in Donbas, leave the invaders in Kherson and Zaporizhia while Ukraine is excluded from NATO is complete BULLSHIT!
I could also trade my Corvette for a 30 years old Lada without a motor and a C4 charge installed in it.

Zel cannot surrender the part of the Donbas that he controls to the putinaZis. He knows it will be lethal for his administration and lethal to the hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians living there. It would abandon Ukraine’s carefully constructed (over ten years) lines of defence and leave them wide open for an even more terrible invasion.
This strip and the cities contained within must be held at all costs.
I believe it is agreed with the European allies that negotiations must start with the existing lines.
Surender could be terminal for Ukraine.
ALL lands must be given back to Ukraine. Anything less is bullshit.
I mostly agree. But who wants a stinky ruZZian infested peninsula back? To make sure rushiZm and islam will take over Ukraine? To give pro-ruZZian preZidential candidates an advantage? Ukraine needs Kherson, Zaporizhia and full NATO membership, period!
The people on the peninsula want to return to Ukraine.
