A note by the author

I’m involved with Ukraine since 1999. I saw two Maidans, smoke-bombs in the Rada, Yulia being imprisoned and much more until war errupted. I was eversince opposed to the EU and the mass-immigration of muslims – who are very difficult to integrate/civilize, if ever at all.

My heart is bleeding since i want to support my Ukrainian sisters and brothers (my mother is of Ukrainian origin), while rejecting both ruSSia and the EU and islamic immigration into Ukraine. I support Ukraine’s integration into NATO and the Western Block instead.

It is like a trip on a ghost-train. When it comes to women and children, i’m the proud anti-muslim. Take it or leave it.

Ukraine is plagued by corruption and unfree media. Plagued by a dictator who rejects elections. I can’t recall Britain or the US cancelling elections during WWII.

Not to mention the demeaning treatment of former president Petro Poroshenko.

Ukraine surely needs a fair peace, but a peace based on facts and the will to compromise on both sides. In short, ruSSophobia turned Putin into the monster he now is.

We cannot simply push a reset button after all the horrors the invaders caused to Ukrainians, but we can see our own mistakes and try to save Ukraine before she is finished off forever.

Trump is unexperienced and changes his views often after a simple meeting or phone call. That is a big problem, but it is up to us to communicate with the world’s leader instead of ranting and insulting. Scepticism is the core of journalism – but pushing our main ally will not produce anything good for Ukraine.

  1. “I can’t recall Britain or the US cancelling elections during WWII.”

Churchill was elected in 1940. The next election was in 1945 after the war in Europe had been won. The US were not fighting a war on US soil or getting bombed every day. Life went on as normal. So it’s hardly a comparison.

During war time Ukraine cannot hold elections, as per their Constitution.

Think about how hard it would be to hold an election when hundreds of thousands of people are fighting in a war, and Russia is occupying a large amount of Ukrainian territory.
