🇺🇦🇺🇸 President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with the President of the United States Donald Trump in The Hague:
💬 “I congratulated President Trump on the successful operation in the Middle East. It is important that the U.S. actions have weakened not only their nuclear program but also their drone production capabilities. We will continue to keep an eye on the situation.
We discussed the protection of our people with the President – first and foremost, the purchase of American air defense systems to shield our cities, our people, churches, and infrastructure. Ukraine is ready to buy this equipment and support American weapons manufacturers. Europe can help. We also discussed the potential for co-production of drones. We can strengthen each other.
I also informed the President about how the technical team’s meetings in Istanbul went, as well as the exchanges of prisoners and the fallen. Russia handed over the bodies of its own troops. Forensic examinations are currently being carried out in Kyiv to identify their relatives.
We talked about the situation on the battlefield. Putin is definitely not winning. I presented the President with the facts about what is really happening on the ground.
Thank you for the meeting and your support. I’m also grateful for the truly kind words about our people. We will keep working.”

Every flag tells a story – of origin and exile, of loss and return. For the Crimean Tatar people, the golden taraq tamga on a sky-blue field is not merely a banner; it is the embodiment of an ancient heritage and an enduring struggle. From the coins of the Crimean Khanate to the walls of Khan’s Palace in Bakhchysarai, this emblem carries centuries of cultural memory, sovereignty, and resistance.
Each year on June 26, Crimean Tatars around the world mark the Day of the Crimean Tatar Flag – a day of pride and remembrance. In the face of past repressions and ongoing occupation, the flag continues to inspire courage and unity, flying as a testament to an Indigenous people’s unbroken will to live freely on their native land.

Today is a historic day for justice in Ukraine and the entire world. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Secretary General of the Council of Europe Alain Berset signed an Agreement to establish the Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine.
Russia’s unprovoked and unjust full-scale invasion of Ukraine stands as the gravest breach of international law in Europe since World War II. Today marks the first time in many decades that a Special Tribunal has been established to address and prosecute the crime of aggression.
On May 14, 2025, Ukraine officially initiated this process within the Council of Europe. This marks a turning point in international justice. But what exactly will the Tribunal do? Who will it prosecute? And how will it work?
Swipe through to learn more about what happened and what’s next, how the Tribunal will function, how it fits within the broader system of international justice, who Ukraine’s key partners are in this effort and why this moment matters for Ukraine – and the world.
On June 25 in Strasbourg, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Secretary General of the Council of Europe Alain Berset signed the Agreement between Ukraine and the Council of Europe on the establishment of the Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine.
“Today’s agreement and this Tribunal give us a real chance to bring justice for the crime of aggression. Other institutions, even international ones, do not have the tools to do this, and we need to show clearly that aggression leads to punishment—and we must make it happen together, across all of Europe,” the President emphasized in his address to the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.
The Agreement, which includes the Statute of the Special Tribunal as an integral annex, officially launches a new, independent international legal mechanism aimed at bringing to justice the highest political and military leadership of the Russian Federation for the crime of aggression—namely, for the very act of invading the territory of Ukraine back in February 2014.
The Special Tribunal is the first international judicial body since World War II with jurisdiction to investigate and prosecute individuals, regardless of their position, suspected of committing the crime of aggression.
The establishment of the Tribunal marks the culmination of years of legal work by Ukraine, its partner countries, the Council of Europe, and the European Union to ensure justice for the victims of Russian aggression.
The Tribunal will complement the architecture of international criminal justice, and its establishment sends a clear signal that accountability is inevitable for those who violate the fundamental norms of international law and seek to destroy entire nations.
