A MiG-29 fighter pilot was killed in combat: he was the flight commander of the “Ghost of Kyiv”

His plane was hit by an enemy missile, he ejected but did not survive.

Captain Marat Mambetov, a flight commander with the 40th Tactical Aviation Brigade “Ghost of Kyiv,” was killed in action . The Ukrainian Air Force reported on its Telegram channel that the incident occurred today, October 1.

It is noted that Mambetov, in a MiG-29 fighter, carried out missile and bomb strikes against Russian occupiers in one of the areas of the front.

“While carrying out a combat mission, the aircraft was hit by an enemy missile. The pilot ejected, but unfortunately, did not survive… Captain Marat Redvanovich Mambetov was a flight commander in the 40th Tactical Aviation Brigade, the “Ghost of Kyiv,” the statement said.

The Air Force expressed condolences to the family and friends of the pilot, who “defended Ukraine until his last breath.”
