The German Major General Christian Freuding analyzed the Kursk operation of the Ukrainian forces and gave his own assessment.
The head of the Bundeswehr’s Situation Center Ukraine at the German Ministry of Defense analyzed the situation on the Bundeswehr’s YouTube channel.
A Bundeswehr’s Major General estimates that Ukraine has deployed four brigades (4,000 to 6,000 troops) for the offensive.
From the Ukrainian territory, they are supported by 2,000 to 4,000 soldiers through logistics and air defense.
The general estimates the depth of the captured territory at about 30 kilometers and the width at about 65 kilometers.
“We estimate the total area where the Ukrainian forces are operating – not controlling, but operating – at about 1,000 square kilometers. This is interesting because it is approximately the territory that Ukrainian troops have lost to the Russians since the beginning of the year,” said Major General Christian Freuding.
He added that Russia had tried to counter the Ukrainian attack with infantry, armored vehicles and Special Forces, as well as massive artillery and air strikes, “however, this has not yet been successful.”
The general estimates that Ukraine has captured “a large three-digit, if not four-digit number of Russian prisoners of war”.
Among the aims of the operation in the Kursk region, Freuding believes, may be to ease Russian pressure on the front lines in Ukraine, a psychological effect “if the war is moved deeper into Russia.”

“It is potentially possible to use the seized territory for political negotiations in the future,” the German general said.
As previously reported, hundreds of Russian soldiers surrendered during the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ operation in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation.

Only at the Sudzha border crossing point on the border between Ukraine and Russia in the Kursk region on the first day of the Ukrainian army’s offensive, several dozen Russian soldiers surrendered.

Washington could also learn a lot!
Ukrainian commanders will know that they will need to take and hold at least one major city and one oblast, in order to force a change in the rat nazi’s calculus.
In addition to that challenge, they have to prevent two important Ukrainian towns from being overrun with vermin.
These challenges are very tough when you have such unreliable allies as Ukraine has.
Indeed, the so-called allies are still just sitting around with their thumbs up their asses instead of getting active. It makes me want to vomit.
