A fire broke out at an oil depot in Krasnodar Krai after a drone attack

02/05/2025

Explosions were heard in the Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation on the night of February 5. Russians complained about the attack by Ukrainian drones.

After that, a fire broke out at an oil depot in the Kanevsky district, and by 5 a.m. it had still not been extinguished, the Russian publication ASTRA reported.

Even the governor of the Krasnodar region, Veniamin Kondratyev, was forced to admit that another oil depot caught fire after a drone attack in the Russian Federation. Traditionally, the fire was the result of an alleged “repulsed attack.”

“Our military repelled a drone attack by the Kyiv authorities. In the village of Novominska, Kaniv district, the wreckage of a UAV fell on a tank with minor residues of petroleum products. A fire broke out, it was assigned the second degree of complexity. Special services are working at the scene. 55 people and 19 pieces of equipment are involved in extinguishing the fire. The situation on the spot is being monitored by the head of the Kaniv district. According to his reports, the fire has been localized, preliminary – there are no victims,” Kondratyev wrote.

But local residents told reporters that the Albashneft LLC oil depot was under attack. The company’s website states that it is a “dynamically developing enterprise, the main activity of which is the production of petroleum products” and “the only oil refining enterprise in the territory of the Kanevsky district of the Krasnodar region.” The declared design processing capacity is up to 320,000 tons of hydrocarbon raw materials per year.

As of 05:15 Kyiv time (06:15 Moscow time), the fire had not been extinguished.

A video also appeared online, which allegedly captured the moment of the arrival of the “fragments” of the UAV.

Interestingly, on the morning of February 5, the Russian Defense Ministry announced the “destruction of four Ukrainian drones”: two over the territory of the Kursk region and two over the territory of the Belgorod region.

Recall, it was previously reported that drones of the SBU and SSO hit the Volgograd Refinery and the Astrakhan Gas Processing Plant.

The affected facilities are major producers of fuel for the Russian army. Volgograd refines almost 6% of all oil in the Russian Federation, while Astrakhan is one of the key facilities in the Russian Federation, processing 12 billion cubic meters of gas condensate annually.

At the plant in the Volgograd region, in particular, the primary processing units were damaged. The work of the Astrakhan GPP was stopped after the fire.

  1. Now it’s drone fragments doing all the destroying.
In mafia land, even if the truth is glaringly obvious, just lie about it. There are always brainless morons willing to believe (not only in mafia land, by the way).
