A Final Salute to Stas.

December 31, 2022

Writing usually never poses any difficulties for me. But, on this occasion, it does. A eulogy … where to begin with it and where to end it? Emotions play havoc.
Stas, yesterday he was laid to rest. He was KIA in Bakhmut on Christmas Eve, December 23, 2022. Another light of life was extinguished in this terrible war.
Stas really was a light of life. He was an intelligent young man who always wore a smile. His mood was ever so cheerful, his outlook always positive. Stas was a polite person who personified not only optimism but also honor, dignity, and courage. Speaking of courage, Stas bravely risked his own life to save a comrade in the heat of battle not so long before he himself was fatally wounded. Stas’ persona is manifest as a true friend and comrade.
All of his compatriots in his unit who knew him felt deep sorrow and lamented the loss of a dear comrade in arms. So did I and also others, who didn’t have the honor to serve with him on the front. Stas, you are sorely missed by all!

A final salute to you, Stas!

Слава Україні!
Слава його героям!

  1. What a terrible loss for all his loved ones.
When savages come to a peaceful land to commit mass murder, everyone has to help to stop the evil, but inevitably the heaviest burden falls on young men. They are at the stage in life where they have multiple future plans, with hopes and dreams for big love, happiness and success.
    Now all gone.
    Eternal memory to heroes.

  2. What a terrible loss for his parents, family, friends, Ukraine and everyone in the world that defends the God given right to freedom. Thanks for the fitting tribute Sir Facts and I hope peace will return to everyone’s heart eventually. I don’t know what to say except those responsible in the Kremlin will pay the price for this mindless and soulless act of cruelty and Stas will smile when their judgement day comes. Let’s pray it comes soon.
    Slava Ukraini!
    Heroyam slava!
    Dyakuyu Stas!
