Russia launched a drone attack on the capital and surrounding region last night, hitting residential high-rise buildings. A married couple was killed and their four-year-old child was injured in the Kyiv region.
According to the Kyiv Oblast State Emergency Service , at 1:38 a.m., a Geran-2 UAV struck a seven-story residential building in the Bilohorodska community of the Bucha district. The impact caused a fire in a seventh-floor apartment and on the roof. By 5:15 a.m., the fire, covering an area of 600 square meters, was extinguished.
According to the Kyiv region police , two people were killed and four others were injured as a result of enemy shelling.
“Unfortunately, the man and woman died, and their 4-year-old child received medical assistance at the scene,” the statement said.
According to rescuers, the victims include a woman and two children (born in 2016 and 2021) with acute stress reactions, as well as a man with smoke inhalation. They received medical attention.
The Russians also attacked Kyiv with drones.
The Kyiv State Emergency Service reported that a 17-story residential building in the Holosiivskyi district was struck at the end of the building, causing minor damage to the roof and the wall of the utility floor, and damaging the windows of the upper floors. Parked cars were also damaged.
