Trump continues to insist that the island should become part of the United States.
Republican Randy Fine, a member of the United States House of Representatives, has introduced a bill in Congress to “annex” Greenland , Fox News reports .
The bill aims to authorize US President Donald Trump to “take necessary measures” to acquire Greenland and initiate the process of its annexation to the United States, the report says.

“I believe it’s in the world’s best interest for the United States to exercise sovereignty over Greenland. Congress would still have to decide whether to grant statehood, but this would simply empower the president to do what he’s doing and declare that Congress supports it. And then that would expedite the statehood process,” Randy Fine told Fox News Digital.
Trump has been promoting the idea of annexing the island to the United States since his first term in the White House. He frequently uses Greenland’s strategic importance as an argument, particularly emphasizing its proximity to Russia and the presence of important mineral resources.
Moreover, Fine believes that “American rule will be better for the people of Greenland as well”:
“The poverty rate among them is high. Denmark didn’t treat them well. When war came to the city, Denmark couldn’t protect them. Guess who protected Greenland during World War II? Us.”
Notably, Republican lawmakers were somewhat embarrassed after White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt did not rule out using military force to establish control over Greenland.
What does the American Constitution say?
The US Constitution grants Congress the power to admit new states. Legislators must pass a law authorizing the creation of a new state. Subsequently, the territory must draft a state constitution approved by the people who live there.
Congress must then vote again to admit the new state to the United States before the decision becomes final when signed by the president.
Earlier, White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt explained Trump’s position on the issue: he believes that if the United States does not gain control of Greenland, the island could eventually be seized by China or Russia.
“It’s important to remember that this isn’t just about the interests of the United States. It’s quite possible that Greenland itself would also be better off if it were part of the United States and under its protection,” she added.

This outright Nazism disgusts me to no end. I spit at such despicable politicians.
Who gives a shit? Come and take it! Break international law, kill innocent people, destroy NATO, and years later let future presidents pay reparations for all caused damage, death and stolen oil and gas. Trump and those licking his anus are scum. Trump here, Trump there… seems the United States is his private ranch and not the country of the people. The constitution refers to the people, not a fat fuck dicktator and a bunch of spineless asslickers. 🐓🐓🐓
Arctic and North Atlantic oceans’ security is a very real thing, but this is an exercise on how NOT to fix it……..
