The joint banking network POWER BANKING, which will operate and provide services to customers even during the blackout, has been created in Ukraine.
According to the press service of the National Bank, the work on the new system lasted more than a month. This is a joint project of the National Bank and all systemically important banks of the country.
Branches of the general network are provided with alternative energy sources and backup communication channels, have enhanced cash collection and additional staff.
“The joint banking network is a unique project and an example of consolidation and partnership of Ukrainian banks. After all, they agreed to choose not competition, but daily coordination and exchange of experience, so that together we can effectively counter the challenges of war,” stressed Andriy Pyshny, head of the National Bank.
Today, the POWER BANKING network unites all 14 systemically important banks, whose branches have become the basis of this network, and attracts other participants in the banking market. Now more than a thousand branches in all regions of the country are additionally equipped to work during the blackout (about 80% of them are branches of systemically important banks).
Under the blackout conditions, all customers will be able to receive cash (at ATMs or at the cash desk), make payments, transfer funds (at the cash desk or at self-service terminals), exchange currencies and consult financial managers in POWER BANKING network branches.
The map of branches of the POWER BANKING network is regularly updated on a separate web page of the National Bank, where you can find more detailed information about the network, a list of its branches and more.
