Another record has been set in Russia. The authorities of Belgorod province will pay 3 million rubles now (an equivalent of $31170.00) to anyone signing a military contract.
Even residents of other provinces can travel to Belgorod, sign a military contract and cash in (as before one had to be a resident of Belgorod to receive a sign up bonus).
Moscow was the leader in payments until now. Moscow still offers 2,3 million rubles $23900.
Am I the only one thinking that this mad record setting bacchanalia is a sign of a big crisis in the Russian army? Why would they be constantly increasing sign up bonuses if they had enough men serving and enough new volunteers?

They wouldn’t. Especially as it will be a very short term contract. At least the russian wives will have some money to buy a sack of potatoes with.

Throwing money at people to convince them to die for their rat leader means two things; there aren’t enough volunteers and there aren’t enough armored vehicles in the mafia army. It’s a vicious circle. As more APCs get demolished, more meat must go via golf carts or bikes, increasing the casualties, and thus increasing the need for even more meat.
If they ever see the money. I have no doubt that this signing up bonus will be paid after they have served on the front for a few months.
